Cheap plastic
My on board truck compressor one day stopped working. Upon further inspection I found the inline fuse holder in my engine compartment broken in two peices as you see It in the picture. Poor quality.

Nothing fancy and does the job
This was perfect for connecting 8 AWG wire under the hood for a trunk mounted amp. This model is sold under many names but the design is solid and affordable. If you use the correct wire size, the silicone rings on the caps seal well. O-rings on the fuse side of the caps add to the water resistance. The connectors have internal spring clips to maintain good contact with the fuse. I've had one of these mounted for a few years in my other car and it still looks brand new and maintains a solid connection. Your best bet is to mount it higher up in engine compartment away from heat and constant water spray. It can handle the occasional spray from engine cleaning. With the included hex key and two fuses, this was a good deal.

How do I change the fuse?
Maybe I am completely stupid. The product comes with an extra fuse, but can't figure out how to replace it.

Had to resolder the fuse
Nice mounting, nice connection, but the fuse seem to blow. Fuse did not appear to be blown but when I took it out it was in two pieces. One end apparently had a cold solder joint but I was able to solder it back together.

Fuse failed - no obvious sign of burn out
This fuse powered up a 12 volt air compressor that draws 15amps at peak startup. After a week of intermittent operation (the compressor run time in the last week was just to demonstrate to others how it works) I lost power to the air compressor. Troubleshooting led me to what appears to be a defective fuse. As you can see by the photo there is no obvious signs of a burned fuse element yet using a voltmeter there is zero continuity. Fortunately the fuse kit comes with a spare fuse which has the system up & running again but I have no idea where to get a replacement fuse as they are a little unusual.
