I LOVE these bulbs! They give light, but don't glare in your eyes. The light is dispersed sideways and out so you can be comfortable.

Used lightbulb in a hanging light fixture in the living room. The half covered bulb works and seems to be ideal in this setting.

Helps create a tranquil room when used in tables lamps.
Just what I needed to prevent the unpleasant harshness that the top of a bulb inflicts when used in a table lamp. Now if someone could only figure out how much better these bulbs would be if the clear part under the metal cap was instead made with frosted glass, they’d have a hit on their hands. The bulbs known as “silver bottom frosted” used in motion picture fixtures are what I was really looking for, but these are the closest.

Too dim
I understand that the gold on the bottom of the bulb will decrease the illumination, but unfortunately it was too dim to qualify as a “light” bulb. Even for mood lighting it wasn’t very helpful.

I love these bulbs, but straight out if the package, one out of the 4 bulbs did not work.
