Helped my Asd/adhd son read
These are so simple and build in skill so slowly. They are great. My 8 yr old has been struggling to read. But learning how to sound a few cvc words and he can read an entire book! That really motivated him. He went through all of these books in a few weeks. So we are done with them. So worth it.

Great first readers!
After my 5 year old got most of her letter sounds down we started going through the Bob books, starting with Set 1. Our tradition was for her to read a story (almost) every night before I read something to her (sometimes I'd let her re-read something she read before, or I'd let her off the hook if she was really tired -- wanted to keep it positive). The books start super-easy, and they progress very slowly. After about 8 months we got through all the books and she can now tackle level 1-2 easy readers on her own. Learning to read is an enormous feat, and these books help parents guide kids through it systematically and at their own pace. I strongly recommend everyone goes through the whole series and then passes the books on to someone else!

Love, love, love Bob's Books! (Educator approved)
I cannot say enough about Bob's books. I taught my son had to read using every single level and I use them with my students as well. I recommend them to my friends and parents of my students. I really can't say enough good things about Bob's books. It features repetitive reading. Children do not move on to the next level until they have mastered 100% accuracy.

Get them, and they will read - It really needs 100 stars!
If you have a child that is starting to read, get these books! The progressive nature of the series allows young people to feel a sense of accomplishment without being overwhelmed. We have given several sets of these books to our family and friends who have little people and they have all reported great success. I don't really care to listen to an inexperienced reader (makes me cringe) but the books move along fast enough that they don't overwhelm the child (or bore you stupid).I can't say enough good about this series!

Simple stories, simple pictures
These books are perfect for the child who is learning how to read. Nice short stories with simple words. I wouldn’t say the stories are phenomenal pieces of literature or anything but they do the job. Included with the books are good reading hints like “when there is an e at the end of a word, the vowel in the middle is usually a long vowel.” Simple pictures that look like a kid drew them.

Targets the Skill
These are so great! Long vowels are sometimes the hardest thing for students to understand. It just takes practice and these books really target the specific words that they will need to practice. The rest of the words are easy sight words, so they can focus on the long vowel ones. I saw great success with my students.

Excellent
This is a nice progression from the previous sets. It follows along with what they are learning in school. The only con: I'd prefer one book to focus on one long vowel sound and its multiple spellings. When we were studying long E, I had to use 2 different books, one for ee and another for ea and e_e. "Joe's Toe" has Long O spelled oe, and long I spelled i_e. "Chickens" was much better, it focuses on Long A spelled ai, ay, & a_e. I wish they were all more like "Chickens."You might also want to look at "Now I'm Reading: Amazing Animals" in addition to Bob Books Set 5. Each book focuses more on the multiple spellings of each long vowel.

Love the Bob Books!
My son loves these books, and has been so excited to read ever since we started reading the Bob Books series. We started with set 1 when he was 4, and he's in kindergarten now reading Set 5 wonderfully. The sentences are simple, but the stories are engaging. I like the simple artwork that helps with figuring out tough words, but doesn't distract from the effort of reading. The new sounds are grouped together well, so that it's easy to pick up multiple new words in the same family. My son loves that the books in Set 5 have a word count on the back cover - he gets so excited that he just read so many words! We love the Bob books and the excitement for reading that they have generated in our son!

Love the Bob Books
Love the Bob Books. They may not be the best early readers but as long as you stick with one thing from start to finish...as well, I purchased a few levels at a time, some more challenging than the next to enable my daughter to gain confidence with the more simple one and then gradually increasing in difficulty. She reads like a champ and is only in JK.

Very useful set of books for the kids
These are very interesting set of books which our kid loves. His reading skills and vocabulary improved with these. He gained confidence in reading and started to enjoy reading. Though a bit expensive we strongly recommend these books.

My Kids Love These Books
I'm not going to review every single set of Bob Books differently. The fact is my kids like them, and they helped them a bunch to get the hang of words and reading. I think they're well worth it and would recommend them to anyone.
