MyMathLab: Student Access Kit

This product was needed for an online class and it worked well for me

The online classes are great, you can do so many more homework examples in less time than trying to figure it all out on your book. The book is valuable too if you can get an older edition (its almost exactly the same usually) for less than a new one.These are definately cheaper online than anywhere elseCollege book stores often charge a lot for their books.My class was not online but the homework, quizzes, and examples were online using this system.At first I thought I wouldnt like it, I was wrong this is much easier for the teacher and the student to do homework and run the gauntlet of examples over and over again until it expires.I just wish the software was downloadable to my computer so I can use it anytime without the internet anywhere and as many times and for as long as I should ever indulge myself to want to.The site works in IE and Firefox and probally othersMake sure you have Shockwave and Flash and Java installed to use all of the heavily custom scripting embedded into the system.Reading the book is difficult because of size on the screen, page loads, etc but thats why I say get the real book to study it. and use the online portion to do excersizes, quizzes, homework.The online site is rarely down and in the few times it was they gave plenty of prior notice. From 1 to 2 weeks early.The only privacy, security flaw i see is that you can message other students in your "class" and this exposes the emails they used to register their class. I am against proliferation of user information and maintain the right to have my anonymous privacy.Although most people dont care it is a concern I give to any company.Overall worth the cost minus the book because I found a book two editions old, 4 years old, in exact perfect condition and the pages to the examples were identical.NEW With the book its up to the individual student or the teacher if they require the book and the online portion or only the online portion or only the book and not the online part. So every place is unique.Go Mathematics Team!...

My code worked but as with any software that require codes you need to use good judgement before you make the purchase. I paid a little more to purchase as fulfilled by Amazon. That way I could send back with ease, if there was an issue. It was a little cheaper on Amazon than my school bookstore or from MyMathLab directly.The course itself is okay, but what are you gonna do if you need it for a class? You have to buy this no matter what. I do like how the lessons/content can be personalized and adaptive based on my personal learning needs. I was able to go in and do extra work and practice on some of the concepts that were a little hard for me to grasp. I also like that I could view my statistics to see what I excelled at or what I needed to improve upon. Unfortunately, it's a pricey product. but so are most college materials. =( Thanks for reading my review,hopefully I helped you.

Edit: As of 08/25, the replaced MyMathLab kit was received and the code worked! Good news!Next Step: Return original opened MyMathLab kit and see if they accept it as a valid return and not charge me twice.History:Code was previously used upon initial registration. Item was purchased new, kit was sealed, and code was not already revealed; therefore, the product was defective.This issue suggests a material breach in their code control. Either the codes have been compromised by unlawful access and copy thereby allowing unlawful registrations or their registration system uses an encoding structure that is materially defective thereby allowing unlawful registrations. I'm not alleging unjust enrichment or any fraud on part of the seller.We requested a replacement; which should arrive in two (2) days. If code works and returned "opened and scratched" is accepted without issue then I will provide a better rating and affirmation of their customer service.Accordingly, if the replacement kit (i.e, code) does not work and a refund is not approved I plan to use all legal means necessary to remedy any financial loss.

The School Charges $169 For This... I Saved More Than Half When I Bought This From Amazon! Highly Recommend If You Need It For College

This access code has an e-book, but you need to look in Chapter Contents once you go onto the MyMathLab website.Depending on your professor's requirements, you can have unlimited tries to the math problems. The explanations after you choose a wrong answer are not very clear, but the methods to solve them are understandable.There are also helpful resources around the website. If you have time, you can refresh your math skills with those.Make sure to have your course id, or if you don't, you may register without one.The access code is good for two semesters, so if you used it in the fall, you may use it in the spring, but not the summer semester. Hence, do not skip a semester and think you can reuse the code; you won't be able to.I bought this for $69.20, a hefty price for a code and an e-book, but it's better than the triple-digit hardcover textbook.Personally, I despise access codes for math courses. But since the professor I had for in-class instruction was a terrible teacher, I chose to take the online course.Advice:1) If you want to buy access codes for cheaper, purchase them really early before the semester starts.2) Think twice of what access code to buy or you'll get the wrong one.3) Sometimes, buying the previous version of a textbook saves you a lot of money because most of the material hasn't changed at all.Good luck!~

The password works. But I think it would be easier to sent the password information by email instead of postage.

Received the item quickly, and when I got it it looked sealed etc, the code wasn't used before. But upon trying it several times I got error 84 on the Pearson website, so no dice. Frustrating, as if school wasn't stressful enough XD.

The product received was correct and I did receive it on time, however the access code had expired. I had to contact technical support and get a new one.

Worked first try! Definitely saved some $$
