Jennifer Hills is back! Forty years after 1978’s I Spit On Your Grave shocked the world with its story of a beautiful career woman assaulted and left for dead, and her notorious revenge on those responsible, cinema’s most lethal lady vengeance returns in the most anticipated sequel of all time.Reuniting star Camille Keaton and original director Meir Zarchi, I Spit On Your Grave: Déjà vu sends now successful writer Jennifer Hills hurtling back to where it all began – to face the wrath of the families of those she murdered. Kidnapped along with her daughter Christy (Jamie Bernadette), it’s a tense game of hunt – or be hunted – against a lethal gang of degenerates overseen by a violently unhinged matriarch Becky (Maria Olsen) Meir Zarchi delivers the next explosive saga in the most controversial tale of an eye-for-an-eye ever committed to celluloid. Some grudges refuse to be buried…

Quality is excellent!
This sequel I had to have. I was a kid when the original came out n don't remember ever seeing it, only the remake, which was fabulous. No problems with quality, scratching or tech issues. Played perfectly. This was a good sequel, now I need to find the original to watch.....

Great movie!
I was always a huge fan of the original I Spit on Your Grave, so I was ecstatic when I learned that the original director had come out with a proper sequel. I loved this sequel, and was wowed by the fact that the original Camille Keaton came back to reprise her role from the original film. I would have given this sequel five stars, but took away one, only because I hated what happened to her character in it. That was, to me, completely unnecessary. But, I loved the way her daughter came in to fill those big shoes, and took revenge for her! All in all, the film is a worthy successor to the original!

The worst movie in the entire franchise
First off, if you already didn’t like the original I Spit on Your Grave movie, this isn’t going to win you over. However, as someone who did enjoy Jennifer Hills in the original movie, I was quite delighted to hear she would be returning, with the original actress no less… up until I actually watched the movie. To say it disrespects her entire character and her legacy would be an understatement, if they were just gonna kill her off, why even bring her back? And for what? Cheap shock value? THIS SERIES ALREADY HAS PLENTY OF THAT WITHOUT NEEDING TO KILL OFF THE BEST PART OF THE ORIGINAL MOVIE!Just, don’t bother with this one. Even as someone with a thick stomach that can look past the uncomfortable R word scenes this franchise is known for, I can’t recommend this entry, just watch the original and the remake if you’re really curious.

Mixed Bag
This film has some strengths: the return of grindhouse legend Camille Keaton as Jennifer Hills; (relative) newcomer Jamie Bernadette, who gives a daring performance here; flashbacks to the original classic; the absence of a soundtrack, which was an idea well-utilized in the original film, and which works here as well; good cinematography, and a couple of great plot twists. There are even some excrutiating moments of violence in the sequel that stand up to the banned, video-nasty essence of the original film.Unfortunately there are a few outstanding problems with Deja Vu as well, and they're biggies: it's overly-long and drags, with too much exposition, and at 2.5 hours I imagine it could have been cut effectively down to 90 minutes; the overacting of Maria Olsen, she has one good scene (at night in the cemetery) and the rest of her performance is over-the-top and unbelievable, like a parody of a villain; she has a self-consciousness as an actor that reads through. The actor who plays one of her henchman, the skinny guy with the beard (he also has one good scene, in the riverbed), gives Olsen a run for her money in the horrible-acting department. Not to mention the fate of Jennifer Hills herself, which I won't reveal here but which I saw as a slap in the face to the fans who loved Keaton in her powerful - even indestructible - role in the first ISOYG.In the end the bad aspects of the film outweigh the good.Even Savage Vengeance is better than this crap. What a wasted opportunity to make a decent sequel.
