So, I was walking in the mall one day a few years ago, and got stopped by a nice man who wanted to style my hair. I had some free time, so I allowed him to. He used this exact product, Herstyler Classic Forever Ceramic Flat Iron. I had never used anything on my hair, other than a curling iron once and a while. I am not a fan of curling irons or flat irons because the right look has always been hard for me to achieve. I can never make all the hair appear like a professional styled it or that natural effortless look. Plus I did not want to take a chance and damage my hair. So I was a skeptic. After a few curls he created, I was hooked! I did not want to buy this product at the mall because it was retailing for $200 at that time. I found it on Amazon for about $40 at the time. I bought it and have been using it ever since. It is easy to hold, does not get heavy. Has easy temperature adjustment. I did drop it a few times and a small corner piece of the ceramic broke off. I still use it and it works great. Also, I was putting Moroccan oil in my hair then using the Herstyler. I noticed that combination was damaging my hair and staining the ceramic plate. It gave the plate a rusty burnt color. I stopped using the oil and my hair has been damage free since. Keeping the iron on a medium temperature setting also helps prevent damage. The higher the temperature the faster your hair sets, but could cause damage. Do not redo a piece of hair several times. One time should be enough on the piece of hair you are styling. You can touch it up briefly a second time, but I do not recommend more than that. I only use the Herstyler to create waves and curls, not to straighten my hair. I do not know how it would work to straighten. I finally recently broke down and bought a new one. It was even cheaper this time around on Amazon! It's light enough and small enough to travel with. I still have my old one as a back up and travel one. I do not know how other Flat Irons rate, but this one is great so I do not feel the need to look for a different one.

The only straight iron I have used for the past 15 years. It last forever until I drop it or do something stupid. I cant live with out it!

This is my favorite brand of straightener!! I have naturally curly hair and this always leaves my hair straight. I usually use it to curl. This is my 3rd straightener I've bought from the company. The only bad thing is the plates are fragile. I occasionally drop it on my bathroom tile (on accident) and the plates crack. The straightener still works, but hair gets caught in the crack.Such a good deal though for the price!

Better than the “Chi” flat iron. Mine lasted me about 8/9 years. I’ve dropped mine so many times over the years and it still worked for so many years. I’m buying another one because I dropped mine yesterday and it finally broke LOL. I’m sad because now I have to go 7 days without my flat iron (shipping). In high school, the flat iron our cheer coach told us to use was the Chi and we all loved it. When “Herstyler” came out at the mall kiosks, my boyfriend at the time bought me the pink set (flat iron/style wand and the one that looked like anal beads) I never put it in my butt. Anyway when I used it (flat iron) dude it was 100x better than the “chi.” I gave my Chi flat iron away and have stuck with this well into my 30’s. It’s wayyyyyy cheaper than the Chi, lasts a verrrrrry long time, heats up in maybe only a minute and I haven’t had a bad hair day in years. I have curly hair (black/Asian mixed hair) and this works great for me. My mom loves it too and my sister in law loves it. I wasn’t paid for this review (I wish.) I’ve had the black and pink one. The pink one is pretty but over the years, the pink fades from the heat from the hot plates and starts looking ugly. Still works great but ugly af. I like the black one because over time, it still looks new, clean and not burned. I haven’t ordered from this Amazon seller but hopefully my new Herstyler flat iron is still as wonderful as my last one:)

I own a professional flat iron that cost over $200 that I have used for years and I love it. I have very long, thick hair, so I need atleast 450 degrees to easily style my hair. I'm traveling to Europe and needed a dual voltage flat iron. It was very challenging to find a flat iron that got hot enough. This one fit the bill. It works great and gets hot enough. It does have a slight drag or pull on my hair, then again as mentioned, my hair is very long. For vacation, it will work great and you can't beat the price.

Fast, versatile, effective, affordable. What more could a woman want? I love that after years of curling irons making curls in my hair that only last 2 hours, is over! I no longer have to put chemicals (hair spray, mousse, etc) in my hair to have a curl last literally all day long (actually, up to my next washing), just as well for straightening. I get so many compliments on how shiny and soft my hair looks after using herstyler. I love having the natural feel of my own hair. I actually first bought Herstyler when it first came out at an insane price of $200. Even back then, IT WAS WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN GOLD! Everyone that i have loaned it out to, ended up purchasing one for themselves. A woman that has thick crazy curly hair borrowed it, and upon returning, she swore she was going to marry it! You can use it to straighten but my favorite way is using it to make long loose curls for an elegant but very natural look. I even use this on my 9 yr old daughter's hair cuz i can control the temperature, which makes it safer, and i know that it wont damage her hair. Plus she likes that i don't have to use hair spray. It takes about a minute to heat up, or less. I can put all of my long hair, which is past my belt line, in soft loose curls in less than 15 minutes. How can a woman not love this product! Dont let those store brands fool you! They are just ceramic coated. For around the same price, you can get the real deal!!!
