Great solution for a Mac display

I've used this monitor for about 2 weeks. Very satisfied. The 24" size is perfect for my use. After decades of using two computers, a desktop iMac or Mac w/monitor along with various MacBook Pros, etc. - I wanted to consolidate down to one Mac. I purchased one of the new M2 MacBook Airs, connected the LG monitor via the supplied Thunderbolt 3 cable and voilà - instantly worked. Single cable solution. I connected several hubs to the monitor USB-C ports and all the various peripherals (external drives, printer, etc). Screen quality is indistinguishable from the 21.5" 4K "Retina" iMac I previously used. There have been comments about the LG monitors versus the Apple display options. Appearance, the stand, build quality, etc. The appearance is fine (IMHO), may be not as refined / pretty as the Apple studio display but looks great with my new midnight MacBook Air. The stand is quite heavy and and the 24" display is very stable and doesn't move or wobble. The build quality seems fine. (think LG TV) Reliability TBD. My only comment is that some people have had failed / intermittent connector problems with this or the 27" version. The back panels are slightly angled and the connectors plug in at perhaps a 10 degree angle. Reaching around back I'd see people, including myself, trying to put in the connectors off-angle. To minimize potential issues I plan on plugging cables in once to the monitor (I.E. not changing connections all the time) and connecting / removing devices from the other end of the cable connected hubs..Last - no webcam, microphone? I don't use these often and the notebook has them when I need it. This would be a different story with a Mac Mini or Studio. So far this monitor more than meets my expectations.

A more affordable alternative to Apple 5K displays

I got this display to accompany a new Mini, both replacing an aging iMac with 5K display. It was easy to set up and has been flawless in the 10 months since buying it. I actually like the stand better than my old iMac's because vertical height is easier to adjust. It plays nice with my DAS keyboard's display controls and after cataract surgery in 2023, I really began to fully appreciate the crispness of the LG's display—allowing me to discern periods from commas once again! And of course, watching movies and other streaming media, the LG looks fabulous.

Beautiful image, easy connectivity for Mac

This monitor is the same panel that is used in the iMac 27" 5K. Which is to say the best commonly-available panel short of the super-expensive Pro Display XDR.Text and images are clear and sharp, noticeably more so than a 4K monitor. It gets as bright as I can stand. Its included USB-C ports allow me to use it as a hub to connect USB-A devices via a hub, so I can use a single cable to plug my Macs into all my peripherals.Just like the notch on the new Macbook Pros, the plastic frame and thick upper bezel disappear in daily use. I use this monitor with my work 16" Intel MBP and my personal 14" MBP M1 Max, and as a monitor it is flawless with each. Adjusting brightness through the Mac keyboard rocks.I've only noticed two drawbacks: It has no headphone jack support, so to connect headphones to it, you must use a USB-C - 1/8" adapter. I'm using Apple's version of it, but it emits loud pops every couple minutes or so if there is no sound output. The other problem is that the monitor won't daisy-chain another monitor as far as I can tell. When I plug a low-end monitor with a USB-C - DisplayPort cable into one of the monitor's downstream ports, the Mac complains that a Thunderbolt connection is required.

DO NOT BUY - broke after 8 months - horrible customer service - LG & Asurion warrantees useless

First of all, a jagged line of pixels appears and disappears running down the center of the screen. The bigger issue is the display completely stopped working after 8 months. It charges but nothing comes up on the screen - just a dead black screen. Changing cables, laptops, outlets etc did not help, it's an issue with the monitor.LG is the absolute WORST. Spent 2 weeks on the phone with customer service with zero progress even though this broken more-than-a-thousand-dollar product is still fully covered under warrantee. Every time the call ends with them saying they will email me a shipping label and I should get it in one day. It's bad enough that the repair will take over a month at this point, but they will NOT send me the shipping label to send in the monitor for repair. Every single time I call back it's a painful hour on the phone with them with zero progress. Here are some of the excuses I've heard for not emailing me the shipping label which make me wonder if they are purposefully trying to avoid honoring the warrantee:- It may take 24 hours for the email to go through.- It may take 2-3 business days for the email to go through.- You need to pay before the repair can be made [backpedalled that after I objected and asked 4 times what costs I need to pay. Then they confirmed my warrantee says I do not need to pay for any repairs.]- Is the correct phone number to reach you at [some random number I've never heard of]?- It was sent to the wrong department, I need to generate a new case. [So the MANAGER at LG who handled the case sent it to the wrong department, after being on the phone with me for an hour expressing they would prioritize the case. What?]Don't buy this monitor, I really regret buying it.

The best alternative to Apple's version

Wanted a reliable 5k and this is the deal...in fact, this used to be sold at Apple before they came up with their own version. Adjustable...5k....plenty of ports....been using these for nearly two years and have not issues with them.
